Announcement: Subsidy applications are out!

​Thanks to the generous donations of others, Ghost River Rediscovery is pleased to be able to offer subsidies to those who are unable to afford the cost of camp. Applications are due by June 10th at 12:00 pm. We will notify the applicants of the status of their request by June 21st.

SUMMER 2013 CAMP DATES ANNOUNCED

Ghost River Rediscovery’s summer camps, set in the beautiful Devil’s Gap area, have been providing powerful, uplifting experiences for youth and adults for the past 20 years. Our wilderness camps are guided by highly skilled staff, and are blessed with the presence of Native Elders who share their life’s wisdom and pass on cultural teachings to the participants.

When you sign your children up for one of our summer camps, your children will receive:

  • High quality outdoor education
  • AMAZING Staff-to-participant ratios, making sure your child gets all of the support that they deserve
  • Heightened knowledge and sense of place
  • Travel expenses to and from camp, meals, and camping accommodations are covered
  • Cultural wisdom, passed down directly from Native Elders
  • Stories that they can tell for the rest of their lives!

FALLEN TIMBER REDISCOVERY CENTRE

Ghost River Rediscovery is pleased to announce plans to construct and operate the Fallen Timber Rediscovery Centre. The Centre will be located outside of Calgary NW of Cremona. The Centre is a development to support culturally based, outdoor educational programming. Our program offerings will include wilderness camps, leadership training, cultural awareness and natural heritage education. UPDATE – FEB 13th, 2013: Mountain View County councillors have APPROVED our application for redesignation! We are getting closer! We thank everyone for their continued support and efforts to assist in the realization of this amazing project.

ABORGINAL PATHWAYS SKILLS LINK PROGRAM

We are now accepting participants for our April 8th, 2013 program. This paid program is designed to assist Aboriginal youth in Calgary overcome hurdles in unemployment and employability barriers. The Aboriginal Pathways Project will empower youth to break down the barriers for successful transition to employment opportunities through cultural skills development enhancement and professional work experience placement. If you are an Aboriginal youth age 15-30, not in school and unemployed you may qualify. Please contact us at (403)270-9351
