JuniorCamps

Girls and Boys ages 8 - 12




This 5 day, 4 night adventure is an opportunity to experience the outdoors in a culturally enriched and safe environment. Days are filled with exciting and engaging games, traditional crafts, connection to the land, survival skills, and cultural ceremonies based on Indigenous traditions and beliefs. Surrounded by vast mountains, open skies and colourful plants, participants develop new bonds between themselves, between each other and with the natural world as they are embraced within the circle of Rediscovery.  This camp may include spirit spots, opportunity to participate in a smudge and sweat ceremonies and a group overnight under tarps. Girls and Boys ages 13-16




In this 6 day, 5 night journey campers explore their inner landscape, and how their thoughts, dreams, relationships, and visions shape their lives. Playing traditional games and exploring the beautiful areas around camp creates strong, meaningful relationships with themselves, each other, and the natural world. Campers have the opportunity to participate in traditional Indigenous ceremonies such as the sweat lodge and a 24 hour solo. These experiences are very powerful for the youth that participate and can lead to positive changes in the future through self-discovery and a sense of achievement and accomplishment. This camp may include a backpacking trip, spirit spots, the opportunity to participate in a smudge and sweat ceremonies and a “solo” overnight.

New Moon (Young Women)


The New Moon program is a 10 day, 9 night camp designed specifically to empower young women through their transition into womanhood. With the guidance of our Elders and staff, participants will engage in a journey of self-reflection and understanding. Through the thoughtful use of traditional stories, games, teachings, and ceremonies, participants will emerge from New Moon with a sense of power all their own. This power, drawn from their experiences in the Ghost River wilderness, provides guidance for years to come. This camp may include a multiday backpacking trip, spirit spots, the opportunity to participate in a smudge and sweat ceremonies and a “solo” overnight.

Grizzly  (Young Men)


This 10 day, 9 night camp is a chance for young men to develop their personal skills and leadership qualities. Participants will journey through the landscape of the Ghost River wilderness with backpacks, outdoor skills and the teachings of Aboriginal culture. The journey is also within them as they carve a new path for themselves that will forever impact their lives. The rite of passage from boyhood to manhood is honoured as participants explore what it means to be a man and gain useful life lessons in the Grizzly summer program. This camp will include a multi-day backpacking trip in the back country and may include a spirit spots, the opportunity to participate in a smudge and sweat ceremonies and a “solo” overnight.

Mountain Spirit Journey


Mountain Spirit is a 7 day, 6 night transformational journey that explores our relationship with ourselves, each other, and the natural world. People of all backgrounds and walks of life are invited to participate in this journey as we learn practices for deep nature connection and participate in traditional teachings and ceremonies. Mountain Spirit is a rite of passage designed to give participants practices that they can carry forward in their lives to affect continued growth and connection.
