Turtle Summer Camp (Ages 8-12)
Dates: July 4th - 8th
|
Explore the Turtle teachings of truth and experience a new world every day. Wake up in a tipi at sunrise, eat breakfast with new friends and hear the stories of an Elder. Play games and learn skills in the beautiful outdoors, and so much more!
Turtle camp is a wonderful opportunity for the young ones to experience the outdoors in a cultural and safe environment. Days are filled with exciting and engaging games, ecological learning, and friendship, all within an Aboriginal-based program. Surrounded by vast mountains, open skies, and picturesque scenery, participants will develop new bonds between themselves, others, and the land as they are embraced within the circle of Rediscovery. It's the perfect experience for those just learning about the great outdoors!

Black Bear Summer Camp (Ages 8-12 - mature or returning)
Dates: July 26th - Juy 30th
|
Explore the Bear teachings of courage and develop the strength to overcome your fears. Wake up in a tipi at sunrise, eat breakfast with your friends, and hear the stories of an Elder. Learn skills, play games and sing songs in the beautiful outdoors, and so much more!
Black Bear camp is a wonderful opportunity for the young ones to experience the outdoors in a cultural and safe environment. Eagle Summer Camp (Ages 13-17)
Dates: July 10th - July 17th
|
Set against the backdrop of beautiful mountains, participants will learn the valuable skills of outdoor survival and engage in the spirit of teamwork. As they connect with the land, they will utilize cultural teachings to develop and strengthen their inner identity as strong and purposeful youth.
A large component of this experience is the acquisition and development of wilderness and leadership skills, fostering confidence and self-knowledge . Participants should be prepared to be challenged in these areas. Overnight out-trips, leadership challenges, solos experiences, and cultural immersion ensure that participants will always be engaged and active!

Buffalo Summer Camp (Males, ages 15-24)
Dates: July 31st - August 9th
|
Trek into wondrous valleys, set-up camp in the forest, explore where few have been before, build new and lasting friendships!
TThis all-male experience is a chance for young men to further develop their personal skills and leadership qualities. Participants will journey through the landscape of the Ghost River Wilderness with backpacks, outdoor skills and the teachings of Aboriginal culture. The journey is also within them as they carve a new path for themselves that will forever impact their lives. The passage from boyhood to manhood is honoured as participants explore what it means to be a man and gain useful life lessons for this passage.

Wolf Summer Camp (Females, ages 13-24)
Dates: August 3rd - August 10th
|
Explore the teachings of the wolf through lessons in an all female community camp. Make tea from wild strawberry plants, learn about traditional crafts; climb up mountains, sing songs and talk to Kokum (grandmother) about what it means to be a sister.
Wolf camp addresses young women who are on the edge of adulthood, seeking to discover their gifts and potentials, and accept the responsibilities of their coming of age. The experience is based on initiation rituals and ceremonies associated with "Rites of Passage." It is an incredible journey involving a multigenerational staff, a journey of self discovery and the fostering of trust in oneself.

Wilderness Skills Training (Ages 18 and up)
Dates: June 22nd - July 1st
|
The Rediscovery Wilderness Guide Training is designed to teach and practice the leadership skills needed to work in culturally based outdoor programs. Useful for anyone who understands the importance of the inner journey while travelling safely in the outdoors, the course is of particular relevance to those working in Aboriginal youth programs, wilderness therapy, eco-cultural tourism and at-risk youth programs. The course is intensive, often fun and sometimes life changing. Instructors with many years of practical experience in the field teach it. Students experience a living Rediscovery camp, learn about the standards expected from outdoor professionals, explore the healing and educational aspects of outdoor programs and receive training and practice in the following areas.

Mountain Spirit Camp (Adult)
Dates: August 12th - 20th
|
Discover more about yourself and about the land, through an experience with different Aboriginal cultures and traditions. Perfect for those, with or without previous Aboriginal Awareness Training (AAT), seeking to experience the essence of traditional teachings. Each participant will sleep in a tipi, have the opportunity to take part in different Aboriginal cultural practices, as well as spend three days alone rediscovering oneself on a solo. Songs, stories, and one on one time with our Elder will provide first hand teachings and guidance.
Set in the beautiful landscape of the Devil's Gap area, this adult outdoor education program is an opportunity to increase your knowledge of the First Peoples of this land while forming lasting friendships around the counsel fire, relaxing at the river, and exploring the wonders of the natural world.
